What area do you cover?
We currently see children in Central and East Auckland.
Alice travels mainly within Ellerslie, Remuera, Greenlane, One Tree Hill, Mt Wellington, Meadowbank, Stonefields and Kohimarama.
Wei-Yuen travels mainly within Mt Eden, Sandringham, Mt Albert, New Windsor and Avondale.
My child is on a waiting list to see an SLT in the public service. Can you help while we wait?
Yes. An assessment session is usually offered within 2 weeks of a parent contacting us. We can offer interim advice or therapy until you get an appointment with the Ministry of Education (MOE) or Ministry of Health (MOH). Once you have had your MOE/ MOH appointment you can choose to stop having private therapy or your child can have therapy from both the MOE/ MOH and Little Leaps at the same time. We make sure to collaborate with all other therapists involved with your child.
How long is a session?
A session can be 45 or 60 minutes depending on your child's needs. This can be discussed at the initial appointment.
What should I expect at the first appointment?
The first appointment will be 60 minutes long and involves hearing about your concerns, questions about your child's history and a combination of informal and formal assessments. For younger children assessment will be mostly play based. We will then discuss a plan for your child.
Where will you see my child?
We love seeing children in their natural environment where they are most comfortable. We can travel to your home, child's school, preschool or other community setting.
